What a visit looks like
Reception
When you arrive at Cross Creeks Animal Hospital you will be greeted by our reception staff. They will be able to get your pet checked in and ready for their appointment.
Exam
If you are here for an appointment with the doctor a nurse will come and help you into an exam room. They will speak with you to help find the best way the doctor can help your pet.
Treatment
If your pet is due for any testing, or requires treatment after the doctor’s examination, they will be taken to our treatment area to receive the care they require.
Tests we can perform
Laboratory Testing
Advanced Imaging
In-House Diagnostics
We work closely with a local lab that allows us to submit samples for a large range of fluid and tissue testing. Often we can get results the same or next day.
Cross Creeks Animal Hospital has complete digital x-ray abilities. This allows us to get results immediately.
We also have an ultrasound machine that allows us to perform additional diagnostic imaging procedures.
Our hospital has a wide range of equipment to perform tests while you are with us.
Computer powered urinalysis machine
Microscopic examination of tissue and fluid samples
EKG and blood pressure
Animals we see
The elder Dr. Shields likes to joke that our patients “must have fur”. The largest population of our patients are cats and dogs. We also have the pleasure of seeing pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, and ferrets. Some of our patients are more unique pets like hedgehogs and sugar gliders. At this time we are unable to see farm animals, birds or lizards/amphibians.
